Granny Clampett at the Chamber of Commerce

I went to a Chamber of Commerce mixer at a neighboring town last night to network. It was a great venue so long as you didn't want to see what was offered and you didn't want to hear what was said. What a view though. Up on a golf course, you can't beat it with a stick. Seriously, it was fun, even though I felt like Granny Campett putting my ear to everyone's mouth saying.... eh? Whaaaaat?

The Chamber of Commerce members were FRIENDLY and HELPFUL. I will join the one in my town. Making the mistake of telling everyone I was a caterer and not a baker made me realize people love to talk baking but catering is a snoozer. Won't do that again.

Given our economic times, in the first ten minutes, I got people asking me for jobs. What a world. In the future I'll need employees, so the mixer was helpful in a way I didn't anticipate.

On the baking side, I'm going to a party tomorrow and will bake a red velvet cake. It's my first one. I always experiment with my cakes. If it is scrumptious, I'll post the recipe - and maybe a picture of someone eating it. I just love pictures of people eating. Don't you? Especially, I like sitting across from someone who's relishing what their eating, one of life's little joys.
